It's Election Day! Exercise....GO VOTE!!!
I've been making a list of favorite cover songs for a compilation cd and I thought I'd share the list. I ended up thinking of more than I thought so the disc will be...you know....more than one disc. This is in no particular order:

I thought I'd hate more covers than I would like but there really are a lot of decent ones out there. Here's a short list of horrible cover songs.
Dynamite Hack - Boyz N the Hood by Eazy E
Rod Stewart - Downtown Train by Tom Waits
Marilyn Manson - Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode
Madonna - American Pie by Don McLean
The Ataris - Boys of Summer by Don Henley
Counting Crows - Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell
No Doubt - It's My Life by Talk Talk
Ice Cube - Should I Stay Or Should I Go by The Clash
Korn - Word Up by Cameo
Britney Spears - Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones, My Prerogative by Bobby Brown
Sheryl Crow - Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N Roses
311 - Love Song by The Cure
UB40 - anything they've covered
Smash Mouth - Believer by The Monkees
Lenny Kravitz- American Woman by The Guess Who
Tori Amos - '97 Bonnie and Clyde by Eminem
There are a few here that are genre-bending and sort of daring covers (like the Tori Amos cover of Eminem's '97 Bonnie and Clyde) but they just don't work.
