As part of the continuing adventures into the Palm Springs area, we have here some photos from the dinosaur rest stop just outside of Palm Springs off Interstate 10. Some of you may recognize these giant concrete dinosaurs from Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I remember driving by these things when I was a kid but my parents never went in for kitchy freeway stops so I never saw them up close until this past weekend. Most of these were taken by Lindsey since I had to run in, on, and around these dinosaurs like I was 12.
That's me on the giant t-rex's foot.
Hey, that's me again, desperately fighting the sun's glare...
and "witnessing", apparently.
Ain't they fun?
We then stopped at the next exit and braved the Cabazon shopping outlets which were pretty packed although we saw some insane traffic headed that way when we were driving to Palm Springs the previous Friday. Forgot about that whole American obsession with shopping the day after Thanksgiving.
It was biting cold out that day. I'm usually the one who complains about how damn cold it is and I bit my tongue that day since I decided to get out of the car without my jacket. Luckily I avoided getting pneumonia.
