Yesterday was a little brighter than normal. I was sitting on the couch being tired from the medication, as usual, when the door buzzer buzzed. I don't get many visitors so I was curious to see who it was. Curious couldn't begin to describe who my guest was.
Guillermo del Toro.
Yes. Director, Guillermo del Toro. He, who brought us Hellboy. Granted, I did meet him and I think I made some kind of impression a while ago during the Hellboy screening and dinner event a few weeks ago, but this was a surprise I could not have dreamed of.
He gave up one of his patented bear hugs with one of them big back pats and I invited him into my hovel. We sat and talked and it's one of those things where this completely human guy is here spending time with you but you still can't believe it because people like this just don't do this. He's an amazing fellow, generous and a really tremendous friemd to have. I'm flattered that he even remembers me but not surprised. Guillermo's the real deal.
He left a little bag of goodies which he totally didn't need to do but is totally his style to do. Unnecessary but much appreciated.
I love this guy. He added a little brightness to my dark days.
----
My rash is gone! But I'm still tired tired tired from the medication. I'm getting used to it though and I've adjusted when I take them so I'm a little less tired during awake hours.
I worry about how Lindsey will hold up through this. She has enough to deal with in her own life without my bullshit. I will try not to be a burden to her. She's my Earth.
