COUSIN LOVED

Last Saturday night's Cousin Lovers show was pretty good. It was the new line-up with only Tim (lead vocal, mandolin) and Dean (guitar, harmony) intact from the original crew. Still, it was a fun show if a bit rough around the edges. The highlight was their brand-new cover of M.I.A.'s song, Galang.

And speaking of which, if you haven't picked up M.I.A.'s album, Arular, you're missing out on a great record. It's ridiculously addictive and I fell in love with it on first listen.

Sucks that I couldn't make it but I had a prior commitment. Next time.
I would've much rather been Cousin Lovin'

I think they're playing again at the end of this month. Not sure about that though.

cool! another person who digs this MIA chicks funky stylings... I thought i was the only one.

i can't say i love the album as a whole, but bingo and galang are indeed super sweetly addictive jammy jams. maybe now on your recommendation I need to go back and give some of the other songs a second chance.

You would have lost your mind had you heard the cover of Galang my friends played since it's a bluegrass cover! Yeah, give it another whirl. M.I.A.'s good stuff.
