I have to say this is my favorite piece on this blog. The linework is wonderfully balanced between clean and loose and there's life in the character. Out of curiosity, did you use reference?
Thanks! Yes, I sketched this using a photo for reference. It's a Photoshop sketch. I like the somewhat random nature of the pressure-sensitive Wacom pen...one can get some nice, natural brush-type strokes.
